Facial Acupuncture Courses

Become qualified and insured in as little as 3 months with this 7-day training.

My goal is to equip anyone who wants to practice Facial acupuncture with the skills to become fully qualified and insured to practice professionally with confidence and results. We have students from all walks of life; from acupuncturists looking to specialise in holistic facial care, counsellors and therapists looking to add non-verbal relaxation tools to their box, to cosmetic professionals and beauticians looking for a more holistic alternative treatment plan for their clients.

A very popular course, this practical 3-part facial acupuncture workshop guides beginners and advanced acupuncturists alike to be qualified and insured in facial acupuncture.

Pre-requisites include a good level of determination, a can-do attitude, open-mindedness, attention to detail and a care for others' well-being.

Students also have the option to add on a 1-day massage workshop taught by John Tindall. More info at www.yuantmc.co.uk/courses

"Alice really has a deep working knowledge of the subject. She was able to freely teach theory and then give examples of how this could play out in a working situation from her own real life experiences. You can tell she has a huge passion for the subject and that is infectious."

"She was very patient and understanding but also knew when to push you to achieve the very best you could.

I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She did a great job for us"

What are the benefits?

Cosmetic Care & Rejuvenation

Facial acupuncture is known to be highly effective for cosmetic work, toning and lifting, promoting localised collagen production and micro-circulation. This in turn gives a clear and bright complexion to what can become a dull tired face, reduce fine lines and create a more sculpted look. Effects are noticeable from the first treatment. For longer term results, 3-6 month treatment plans are advised.

Acupuncture is a great natural alternative to Botox and fillers, and acts as a treatment of the whole body- a win-win for your body, mind and spirit.

Holistic Balancing for Body, Mind & Spirit

As the face is a representation of the whole body, treating areas of the face supports the treatment of areas of the body.

It is useful for emotional release, stress management, facial trauma and effective pain relief.

We cover different systems of facial acupuncture to support various aspects of health; including musculoskeletal pain, internal organ balancing, mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as treating facial pathologies, such as facial paralysis and Bells Palsy.

Be prepared to help the face look and feel rejuvenated, and experience deeper releases in body, mind and emotionally.

Who can attend?

This course is open to beauty therapists (and therapists of all kinds), medical doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, counsellors, and people with an interest in learning acupuncture and making themselves and other people feel fabulous in their bodies minds and spirits.

What if I have no prior experience with acupuncture?

If participants have no prior experience with acupuncture, we offer possibilities to train with the basics of needling and prepare them for Facial needling.

The best option is to start with a NADA ear acupuncture workshop or John Tindall's Auricular Masterclass to learn the Flying Needle technique, health and safety and client handling first. Ear points are a great addition to Facial Acupuncture, and the most comfortable place to start practicing needling techniques including flying needle, threading and bleeding.

Can I still join if I cannot do the ear acupuncture course in advance of the facial course?

For those who won't have done the course prior to the training, a 2-hour workshop will be held prior to the Facial Acupuncture course to equip beginners with the skills and confidence to practice facial acupuncture from day 1. This covers health and safety, client handling, and all basics that give students the confidence to practice on each others' faces throughout the next three days. Email me at young_alice@hotmail.com, or yuantmc@btconnect.com to find out more about arrangements.

Our Unique Course Design

Students will learn a perfect blend of ancient practices and modern theory in the application of both acupuncture and, if elected, massage applicable to the face. The techniques taught in this 3-part workshop are simple, safe, effective and efficient and can be easily applied to your client base. Between each part of the course our students have the space to build up their case histories, so they bring in their practical experience back into the training ground and take it to the next level.

Students will learn and practice needling techniques from Day One on each other. Particular emphasis is placed on health and safety to effectively carry out facial/cosmetic acupuncture. We pride ourselves in giving guidance to refine the needling technique to perfection; for a non-invasive, gentle yet powerful treatment.

The acupuncture workshop also covers:

  • Traditional facial acupuncture system

  • Pain management

  • Cosmetic facial acupuncture

  • Emotional release work

  • Holographic facial systems

  • Client handling and working with individual client needs.

What do I get upon completion of the course?

Students who pass the course assessment and complete their case histories can go on to receive a certification with the Yuan College which enables them to practice professionally with insurance. They will also gain access to materials and resources to help them refine their work and begin with consultations. They can also take the course again as many times as they wish, just for half price. More info on assessments and case histories below.

Do I have to complete all 3 parts of the training to be certified?

Yes. Our 3-part course structure is based on years of experience refining what students need in order to be equipped with the professional skills to deliver top calibre treatments confidently, safely and effectively. Students learn a range of Facial acupuncture systems and learn to apply the different techniques and systems to the needs of the clients through building case histories alongside their course work. After an overview to techniques and systems in Part 1, students have an opportunity to put the coursework into practice before bringing in their case history experience and going deeper in Part 2, refining what they've learned so far and moving into more detail in anatomy, pathologies and systems. With more space to apply Part 2 to their case histories, students come back for a 2-day Part 3 course where they have the held space to bring their studies into life through treatment strategies and detailed refinement of advanced techniques including lifting, toning, threading and electrostimulation.

How do I obtain a certificate and insurance?

Following the attendance of the 3-part training, to obtain your certificate to practice Facial Acupuncture with insurance, you will need to have collated a minimum of 10 consecutive treatments with 3 volunteer, unpaid cases (friends/family). The records should include photographs of the treatment and the integration of your learning from the course in treating the client, as well as your learning outcomes from one session to the next. You will also need to document a course of 10 treatments on yourself.

Once this is submitted and approved, you will complete a practical assessment where you will demonstrate your solid understanding of health and safety protocols, appropriate client handling, a good knowledge of point location on all the points and different systems covered during the course, and immaculate needling technique.

On the back of this we will certify you as an Facial microsystems Acupuncturist. With this certificate you can apply for insurance.
